2007 Update LogDecember 2, 2007Very quick blurbs:First of all, I want to reiterate that your support would be appreciated on the Larry Kenney petition. Of course we hope LK will be chosen to voice Lion-O in the upcoming movie, but heck, it can't hurt to throw some fan support behind it! Thank our friends at TCL.org for hosting the petition. Also, if you haven't signed the soundtrack petition, please do. We're doing great, but we can do better. Thanks! In Fanon: The fan fic archive has seen some updates. Clare, Knight Writer and salty girl have all made updates to their respective sagas. In fan art, we have an awesome new artist in ThunderCat78. Saltygirl and Tom Taz have also updated their galleries with some awesome new additions. If you haven't been by lately, do check it out. The fandom awards are going to survive for year six...we got just enough volunteers to pull it off. We're getting our info together and planning, so if you want to weigh in on that stuff as we go, do join the Yahoo Group. We hope to start the nomination phase in January. At long last, I posted a new Featured Site of the Month on the Links page. On a final, more grim note, all my fanlists - including the Tcats themed ones on this site - are down temporarily. I'm slowly moving members back online, but I had to abandon the automated script I used to use, so this is tedious work, folks. Consider, I own a lot of lists! Not going to go into what brought this about here, but it was kinda an emergency and well...all other major update plans are on hold for a bit. Sorry! October 29, 2007Just a few quick things tonight:In Fanon: The fan fic archive has again been quite active. ladyleatc has added several fics. Feliner has added more to his epic. And finally, I have updated SITS. I also updated the lyrics musical area, with new info and links. In fan art, saltygirl has again added several pieces of humorous artwork since the last site update. Still a must see! Finally in this section, I tweaked the fandom awards page a tiny bit - mainly to let folks know we're getting ready for the Sixth Annual awards and would appreciate everyone's participation - and help is needed as well. Please stop by! As for the links section, it updated. Be sure to check it out on your way out. Well, it's short I know but I wanted to get those bits out before doing some stuff in the Voltron section of my online world. Til next time... October 21, 2007This is just a partial update - I wanted to do more but you know how it goes. Hopefully I can produce a few more key things shortly. Til then, I had to make some of this stuff live:First of all, I finally posted a proper page for the UK's S1V2 release, although I still need some scans of the case art - apparently it's different than the US versions I have up. Anyone wanna scan some for me? Love ya forever ;) Far as I can tell, no word on season two for you folks across the pond. I also started revamping the Dictionary, by cross-referencing things and making sure things are spelled to canon. Back when I started that section, being among the older sections of the site, I didn't have the wealth of scripts, character sheets, etc to confirm these things. I figure the Dictionary (and eventually, the ep guides) should at least be modified to be more 'correct', if you will. New entries have been waiting to be added for ages, and I hope to get to them very soon. I want to finish the fixes to the old part, first. I've scanned and posted another script for fans to download in pdf format. This is ep #76, Catfight. Enjoy. Oh, and I also noticed the damn mysterious disappearing file act was going on in the script section AGAIN and fixed the dang things. You'll also note the ticker at the top of this page holds some exciting news over at TCL.org - in case you haven't noticed it, figured I'd mention it again ^_^ Downloads: There's a ton of fan videos to check out from contributor Blackhawk. So many, in fact, I revamped the page a bit. Plus, one of his vids are in the other clips page of the site as it features a unique take on the 300 movie trailer. Also new to that area is the latest Robot Chicken skit featuring our fave felines. Special thanks to Prokopis for providing that for us. Omicron came up with some cool Photoshop brushes for fans to download. In Fanon: The fan fic archive has been active since the last update. For starters, Knight Writer has returned after a long hiatus. Plus, Feliner has been adding to his epic, as has saltygirl. As for me, the next part of SITS is close to completion, but for now I did manage to upload the prior chapter's audio version. In fan art, saltygirl has added several pieces of artwork since the last site update. Must see! Speaking of Thundercats fan art, I tweaked the gallery and lead-in page etc to better explain registration there - as in, how to make sure I don't think you're a spammer and approve you. The fanlists got some captcha scripts added in an effort to stave off the spambots *sigh* Last but certainly not least to the fanon section (and x-linked several other places) is a new petition. It's born of an effort spearheaded by slai, a fan dedicated to seeing that darn soundtrack just released already! If you want to show your support, please visit and sign. I know I've gotten a lot of emails over the years from fans yearning for the same thing so you never know... Fun Stuff: Updated the ecards page a bit. In the site section, I updated the affiliate links again. You'll notice their buttons in the rotation under the nav menu :) I also updated some links on the page that's all about me. Speaking of link updates, um...the links were updated. Check 'em out on your way out. Yes, I was lazy and didn't do a featured link this round. Sue me. There were several updates to some of the faqs (show, site, and fan). I also did software updates on everything - SMF, coppermine and the efic archive...though I have noticed I'm having trouble being able to validate new stories *sigh* Working on that. August 17, 2007A couple quick updates today:In Fanon: The fan fic archive has yet more additions, including those from Lionie and TanC. I also updated another joint effort between Spaced Angel and I on SITS - I know that makes at least one person happy! On another SITS note, I also updated the story's cliff notes, but that's all I had time for this round. In the site section, I updated the affiliate links. Remember, if you'd like to become an affiliate, read up on what to do here. I don't just add people on my own, and you need to send me a button to use in the rotation on the right. I don't have the time or the photoshop skills to make every site I like a button. Sorry. On the forum, we've got some new admins as Cheezey and Colwin pop back into the fandom. There's also a few new skins to choose from there, integrated from the site design, with a few more yet to be modified and brought over. Rejoice ye Mumm-Ra and Lunie fans! Finally, the chat room had to get a new channel, thanks to my laziness and someone taking over the old one when I wasn't paying attention. The portal is already set up to go directly to the new chat, but if you were ever trying to log in via a client such as mIRC, be sure to change the channel to #thundercatsfans - I won't be using the old room any longer. That's all for now, but as always, more is on the way! Summer's almost over so maybe I can really get crackin' soon. August 4, 2007Once again, thundercatsfans.org has been updated!First of all, Larry Kenney (who provided the voice for Lion-O) will be celebrating his 60th birthday on this Sunday, August 5th. Happy Birthday, Larry! In Memorabilia: The final wave of Marvel updates, courtesy of Spaced Angel, are posted in the UK section. There's still some missing issues, so if you can help the site at all finish that area out, I'd be mighty grateful. In the meantime, I hope to resume some scanning for the next round of updates. Otherwise, I posted up two new pages in the comics area - credits pages, one each for Marvel and Wildstorm comics. These pages list the writers and artists responsible for the issues and include any interesting or official external links where more info can be found on that person. Lastly, there is a new ad in the Ads & Clippings section, courtesy of Spaced Angel. In Fanon: The fan fic archive has had the benefit of more additons from salty girl. Salty girl has also added more fan art to the site since last update. Rock&Roll also added quite a rockin' pic of Cheetara to the gallery as well. Also don't forget that the Caption This weekly 'contest' has resumed on the message board forum. Stop on by and have some fun! In the site section, I added to the history page by posting some links from the Way Back Machine internet archive. Sometimes the pics were broke here and there, but it's kinda neat to see an old version of this site live, too. The site map was also updated. ThunderLinks had some new additions, and the page was cleared of dead or broken links as well. I also added a new feature there to hi-light Thundercats sites of particular note or interest. I hope to change it monthly. Besides that, I fixed the capture gallery - I couldn't log in right and just uploaded all the files again so that it works now. Sorry about that. Something musta went wonky with that one the last time I updated the software. I also fixed the Thundercats Fan Fiction Fanlist link in the side menu. I'd like to remind people that the Thundercats Wiki Project has launched and needs the help of anyone willing. I know I plan to add things when I can. I hope you will, too :) I've still got lotsa plans for future updates and new features - and of course, the Sandy Fries interview is in the hopper. I have stopped taking questions for that one, so any additional queries at this point probably won't make the interview. Thanks, however, for those who asked some thoughtful questions on the board and in emails. As for SITS, I have been working on it, the main bulk of work being reviewing the last few chapters since so much time has passed to make sure I remember everything I need to include in the current one. I'm really hoping to post the next chapter with the next update. July 3, 2007Just some quick updates for now:For The Show section, I'm going to be conducting and interview with writer Sandy Fries. I will be taking fan queries until the end of July, so if you have something to ask, either email me or see this thread on the message board. Thanks! In Memorabilia: I did more Marvel updates, thanks to more donations from Spaced Angel for the UK section. In Downloads: I updated Jen's link in the wallpapers area. Also, I posted up some amusing videos made by GringoJ to the clips section. They're not for the faint of heart, so download at your own risk! Some of you might have seen those on youtube already, but I must thank GingoJ for allowing me to also host them here. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! In Fanon: There are yet more updates in the fan fic archive. Spaced Angel has posted some updates to a few of her ongoing stories, and salty girl has also added to her story plus added a brand new story to read. Finally, we have a new author and story to the archive, so pop by and check out falseborn_hope's work. I'd wanted to update SITS *again*, but obviously I still haven't been able to find the right kind of time to polish that up. To anyone that might be waiting on that, sorry! In fan art, once again Spaced Angel and Salty Girl have made fabulous additions since last update. Totally worth a look or two ^_^ Otherwise, I updated the software in the galleries and the efiction archive. The fic archive should be a lot less buggy now, or so I've noticed so enjoy that. As for a lack of a bigger update, the move is complete but I've been busy with renovations and unpacking, plus I started part-time babysitting again. And yeah, still got that Voltron site to move and update, too! At the end of the day, I've been too fried to do anything too involved creatively but hopefully that'll change in the future. I still have lots of plans for the site, which turns 6 this month, - for expansion of existing areas to brand new ideas - it's just going to take time. Thanks for your patience. May 15, 2007Squeezed in a May update for ya:In Memorabilia: The Marvel section saw some updates. Two more full scans of the US issues are posted here. Then, in the UK section, there's more scans and summaries to be found thanks to the efforts of Spaced Angel. Thanks! I also posted the full scan of UK issue 88, per a friend's request. In Downloads: There's more wallpapers available. I also fixed some of the links in the sounds section, so everything there should work now. Thanks to an alert visitor that emailed me about the problem! I knew I probably missed some stuff in the move ^_^ In Fanon: There are updates in the fan fic archive. Spaced Angel has a new fic posted as well as an update on "Requiem for a Leader". Salty Girl, Lionie, and Lionessa have all updated their fics since last update, so there's lots to read. I'd wanted to update SITS as well, but it didn't make the cut this time. I have a bit more work to do on the next chapter, and instead of rushing it for the update I put it on hold til next time. I did, however, post Chapter 35 of SITS in the audio archive for download. Likewise, added the audio encode of Spaced Angel's All Good Things, Chapter 9. In one final SITS-related note, I did fix the link in the picture book leading to Spaced Angel's rendering of Arilla. Noticed it was broken. In fan art, we have a new artist in the bunch going by the name of Danial. Salty Girl and Tom Taz have also updated their albums, so be sure to check all that out as well. I have turned comments back on in the gallery, too, so you can once again leave comments on artwork. I had moved all my tcats-related fanlists to a subdomain here on thundercatsfans.org in prep to drop the purrsiathunder.net domain, so I also had to fix menu links and all that jazz to reflect it. If you were a member and were linking to a fanlist, be sure to update your bookmarks. In Links: Added a few more things to the ThunderLinks page, including a site where you can legally download Thundercats episodes. Again, I did open all the galleries on the site to comments again. New memberships are simply pending my approval, so the hope is spammers will be cut off at the pass. However, we are moving to another house so the next several weeks to a month are going to be hectic for me, and at one point I'm going to be in-between internet services. So if I go some time without answering emails and stuff, don't take offense. In the meantime, I have mods on the board that can watch over that for me, and I recently appointed Spaced Angel an admin in the fic archive. There are still many, many projects I'm working on and hope to add to the site. Hopefully when things settle down later this summer, I can get to more of them! Thanks for your patience. April 4, 2007Just a few quick things tonight:First of all, the domain parking has taken effect. Now, in addition to thundercatsfans.org, punching in either the old url ( purrsiathunder.org ) or returntothundera.org will also get you here. It'll make it easier to find this site, plus I won't have to worry about losing traffic when people forget or just don't want to update their bookmarks and links. Secondly, there are updates in the fan fic archive. Spaced Angel added to "All Good Things", and we've a new writer in Salty Girl, who has offered up her first fan fic for your reading pleasure. Lastly, I added a few more skins to the fic area - gotta love variety. In fan art, I see saltygirl has added some more work to her album there as well. March 25, 2007Welcome to thundercatsfans.org, Return to Thundera's new home! The grand re-opening is not without some updates. Check them out. In The Show section: The Fan Reviews are back with a new feature - the ability for each visitor to rate the ep themselves, which will keep track of everyone's input to give the episode an over all cumulative fan rating. I split up the site's old FAQ page, and so now this section has its own faq to check out, which has been updated. Memorabilia: Added some more scans to the UK Comics section, courtesy of Spaced Angel. I've also uploaded a few more full issues of the US comics thanks to Queen Lynxana's generous donations. Two issues of the Thundercats magazine are available for download so far, with more to come eventually. Both the character sheets page and the blueprints page were reoganized, plus relevent sketches from the French Encyclopedia were added for an easy cross-reference. Thanks to silvercat for the suggested improvements there! Like the previous section, the Memorabilia area now has its own FAQ section, which was updated, too. Fanon: The Fan Fiction area is open again. It's Tcats only, and all stories have been resorted and organized...read the news blurb in that area for more info on that. There's also a bunch of new skins I uploaded, so there's more choices to choose from for users. Enjoy. In the SITS portion of the site, I added an Awards page for those the story has won. I also updated the Character Profiles and Lyrics pages, too. The Fandom Awards page got updated with this year's results linked. Again, the area now has its own FAQ which is all shiny and updated to be current. Site: There's a brand new Guestbook installed, seems how I messed up the new/old one at the other url even before the move, and just couldn't rescue it. Doh. So what few entries were in that other one were lost. Sorry. There's also a new affiliate program on the site. It works similar to the old one, except affiliate buttons/links are more prominently displayed on the site for increased traffic for you. Sign up and I'll put you in the button rotation :) The credits page got updated/cleaned up. In addition, I tweaked the Site History area to reflect recent changes. The site awards page got the 2006 Fandom Award wins added to it, as well as getting a little clean-up job done to it. And yup, you guessed it - the site area has its own faq! Otherwise, you'll notice there's no more splash page. I also really cleaned house. I updated software, dropped some things that just weren't getting any love (i.e. my Cheering Purrsia Award program). I also moved and reorganized all the files, what section things appear under changed in some instances. I tried to update information, fix broken links or images, and so on as I went over the site page by page during the move. This took a long time to do, but it was only with constant attention to it over the last month that it opens to you this early. So I hope you enjoy it. And if anything is around that I missed, do let me know. It's a big site, I'm sure I didn't get it all! But if something was outdated or broken before, odds are it's fixed now :) I couldn't believe some of the areas that had some serious dust on them - hadn't looked at them in years, maybe. Sad, I know :-p Things I didn't get to included a new site search, which will be coming soon. Along with other updates to the dictionary and other areas...just ran out of time and steam for now. Remember to update your links or bookmarks - the old purrsiathunder.org domain will have a redirect for a little while, but eventually I'm going to drop it. Thanks. March 16, 2007Just a few things before the 'big move':The Fan Fic archive has been updated with another chapter of SITS. There's also been a new author in the archive. Check out Lionie's story here. The efiction software was updated with a patch, and at first I had trouble validating new stories/authors. Hopefully, that's been fixed. Chapter 34 of SITS is also up in the audio archive section. In addition, I posted a colored version of Spaced Angel's Arilla image in the SITS Picture Book page. Saltygirl has added more art to the ThunderArt gallery, too. The '06 Winners from the annual Fandom Awards have been announced and can be accessed from the previous link. This site also won several awards in the 06 contest, along with a few for the SITS fic. Thanks to everyone who showed their support. I'm very appreciative! You also might have noticed something new in the Fan Reviews area. I added a captcha image to help keep the spamming to a minimum. This is the last update til the big move. For those not keeping up with developments on the message board, I've been busy with a total retool of the site, reorganizing, spring cleaning and moving to a new server and url (same host, though). You can continue to use the site here as usual, for the most part. It'll take at least another few weeks, I estimate, until I can unveil the new site. I have already moved the capture gallery and merchandise gallery, as they don't get a lot of user-based activity and are pretty static. However, if you join as a user on either of those on this version of the site, it won't carry over to the new site and you'd simply have to re-do your sign up. I'm holding off on moving the databases for the message board, art gallery, fan list, and fic archive until I get closer to the switch-over. Please watch for announcements in those areas and/or the message board for when the cut-off is on that. I might be able to 'close' those areas, I might not. However, if you keep adding to them after the cut-off time is announced, again your new membership, new additions, or new posts - whatever the case may be - will have to be redone, so do be aware. At the end, forwarding pages will be left with this domain for at least a short time, til people get used to going to the new domain. I think you'll really like the new site. It'll have more features, be better organized, and open with fresh updates, too! Keep an eye out for it. February 23, 2007Lotsa updates for you this month:I'd like to thank everyone who nominated this site and the fan fic Signal in the Sky for the 2006 Fandom Awards. Polls will start very soon, so if you'd like to give your support, please join the group and vote for the site and/or the fic. Thanks! And congrats to all the great nominees this year - well done! Also, big changes are coming to Return to Thundera this spring. A new domain and new home is just the beginning. If you'd like to have a say in what the site will look like or how it'll be reorganized, check out the poll in the Site Announcements forum. Your feedback is valuable! In the Show section: I finished fixing all the scripts that were broken. All full scripts are now in pdf format, too. You might have noticed that the chart from a few updates ago on character appearances was taken down. I'm working on my own version, so please be patient! Thanks to blackiecats, I added all the missing S1 title cards back to the episode guide and gallery. I've also updated the UK DVD info, with special thanks going to ThunderaPrincess on that. In Print Media: Spaced Angel donated a bunch of scans and info for the UK Comics section. Definitely worth a look! I also added some full scans of the US run, largely thanks to Queen Lynxana, in that same area. 1-12 is finished, and I also added scans of issues 14 and 15 as well. Speaking of pdf files, I posted up the whole French Encyclopedia for download along with the pages that were always up before. Bonus, if you understand French! In the Wildstorm comics area, I added a few donated art files to the miscellaneous page. Downloads: Added a few more wallpapers courtesy of Omicron. He even made one specifically for this site! Thanks. The series audio area saw some additions as well. I came into my own copies of that rare Thundercats single, and so I updated the French theme download and added the new-to-the-site full, unblemished version of Cheetara's theme. I also cross-posted her theme on the page that's home to the Bernard Hoffer article. Seemed appropriate. Fans: First of all, there's two new artists in the ThunderArt gallery since last update: howler and saltygirl. Go check out their fine galleries! Unfortunately, comments are still disabled. Gotta love spammers. The Fan Fic area has been added to by two new authors to the archive. In addition, more SITS has been posted there as well. Speaking of SITS, the info page for it saw several updates. I caught up with the timeline and cliffnotes documents, and also added to the picture book page thanks to several talented artists allowing me to post up their story-inspired work. Thanks! Lastly there, the 'lyrics' page (ironic, given there's no longer any lyrics there) was updated, including some youtube links where applicable. Finally, the fan fic audio archive page was updated. I've got SITS caught up, as well as Spaced Angel's 'All Good Things', plus added a few other fics of hers. Best of all, there's a new author to the audiochive - Shay Leona! I started adding her Disintegration series, the first of which is posted for download. I plan to add more, and more authors, it's just taking more time than I thought to get that area really rolling. Thanks for your patience. Otherwise, some general maitenance was done, mainly in updating the forum software and the efiction software. Several items didn't make the cut this update, including the dictionary updates yet again, so as always - much, much more to come next time. Phew! January 16, 2007Just a few things this time:The S2V2 Sweepstakes Winner has been chosen, literally drawn out of a hat. Go to this thread on the site's message board to see who the lucky winner is. Congrats and thanks to everyone for playing along. The Fan Fic archive has been updated with two chapters of SITS. All I can say is get your box of tissues ready! January 14, 2007Here's the latest wave with more to come soon:The S2V2 sweepstakes will draw to a close at midnight tomorrow, January 15. Go to this thread on the site's message board to learn how to enter and win. Hurry! The Fan Fic archive has another addition by Shay Leona. I was going to add two more parts to SITS, but got delayed. Hopefully, I can update again soon with that but not this time. In the Show section, we have a new addition to the site. Captain Shiner was nice enough to sort out the characters in accordance to how many and which episodes they appeared in. It's linked to off the Episode Guide and dictionary pages, but can be reached directly by clicking here. The Site Map has been updated accordingly. I also updated the dictionary slightly, mostly by adding missing pics for now. I do have tons more entries to add and I also want to add another few features to it, but that'll be for another time. The UK DVD page got some minor updates, and I also added tomorrow's release date to the message board calendar. In the Print Media area, the US Star Comics area got updated thanks to a partnership between this site and EOT. Queen Lynxana has been putting the issues in pdf format, and was kind enough to let me also use them which cuts down greatly on the load of things I have in queue to can. Issues 1-8 are available so far. Thanks Queenie! I also fixed the links on some of those issues to lead to the proper reviews for certain episodes they were based on. I noticed last update that some of the Script scans weren't showing up because they magically were no longer on my server nor on any of my back-up discs. So I did start re-scanning those select pages, and only have four more to go (#'s 41, 44, 56, 63) - just ran out of time to finish. I also put most of the full scripts in pdf format, for hopefully, easier download and management. In Downloads, a new wallpaper was donated to the site. Check it out! In the fan area, I put Spaced Angel's nice drawing of Arilla up in the Picture Book page for SITS. I am working on making profiles for Arilla and the Thundercats' children now that we've begun Era Two, so hopefully that'll be something I can post up soon. Last but certainly not least for this round is the issue of the Fandom Awards. That page got updated with Myra's wonderful award prototype for this year and some updated information. At the group we're getting closer to the "fun" part - nominations, and then voting. Right now we're finalizing our lists of possible nominees, and allowing any members to speak now or forever hold their peace about the rules and other issues before we get down to business. So please, I encourage everyone in the fandom to join and at least participate. It's fun and done in a good spirit. We hope to start nominations in February. January 1, 2007Happy New Year! I've had computer problems, and have to sort some things out before I can unleash another major update but what I have for you today is brief but interesting:I did close the contest area, but I have an S2V2 set to give away. Go to this thread on the site's message board to learn how to enter and win. The Fan Fic archive has had many fan additions worth checking out since the last site updates were posted here. If you haven't been by lately, definitely give them a read! I also patched the efiction software for minor bugs and stuff, as issued by the creators, so bare with us all as we work out the kinks in this great 3.0 version. Spaced Angel has a new image to offer up in her ThunderArt gallery. Definitely give it a look!
