* Alright...what on Thundera is this LFS you refer to, anyway?

Perhaps borne of the need for a handy plot device, LFS refers to the tendency for Lion-O to forget basic stuff (usually in the heat of battle no less). An example would be, Lion-O forgetting one can call the Sword of Omens, even though he's done just that a million times before. Like I said, it was probably just a cheap tension building plot device, but it made him look damned flaky.

And so I gave a name to Lion-O's grey matter pain -- Lion-O Flake Syndrome (LFS). heehee.

* Mind if I print out your fan fic? Download images and art etc?

Speaking just for my own work, hell no I don't mind. Download and print things all day long for your personal use.

However, if you're going to use my images, art, or fiction on your own website, I ask that you clearly give me credit. A link back to my site somewhere on your page is also a nice touch.

Really, the only way you'll get me steamed is if I find my work -- screen grabs included -- used on someone else's page and passed off as that webmaster's own. Things could get ugly in such an instance.

* Any chance of making the site available in other languages?

Obviously I've come to realize there are Thundercats fans from around the world and given such, those visitors may not know English that well. Unfortunately I have neither the time, resources or knowledge to make the site multi-lingual. The best I can offer folks is to run the page through babblefish or any other such online translator.

Also, I do get emails from time to time in other languages. Please understand that I only speak English, and while I can either have multi-lingual friends translate for me or use an online translater to get the gist of what you're saying, replying might be difficult if you can't read English. There are several sites for Thundercats out there in other languages (Spanish, French, and German to name a few) so be sure to visit my links page to find those.

* Why does (blank) not work/look right on this site?

So you're surfing along and something is amiss. It could be a goof in my coding, or maybe I forgot to upload a file and nowt here's a bum link. You can always email me if you believe that's the case.

However, on the very first page of the site, there are several little 'recs', or recommendations, listed to be able to use this site to its full potential.

1) Use Internet Explorer. Yeah, I know. I've heard all the arguments and stuff. And everyone has their preferences. But IE is the only things this site gets regularly tested in and the only browser that seems to want to deliver all the nifty little css effects I've put into it. It works ok in Fire Fox, for example, but I notice that the cookies for the skins don't work in it, and neither do the buttons to select your skin. You'd have to select a skin via FF's view tab. In short, the page is designed with IE in mind. Use what you want, of course (though, whatever you choose running the latest version is usually wise), but if you ignore the recommendation don't be shocked if the surfing experience is diminished. You were warned ;)
2) Make sure you've turned on javascript and css (cascading style sheets). The site relies heavily on both to deliver the goodies. Some pages are image heavy, so the better your connection the happier you're probably going to be.
If by chance the collapsible menu on the side doesn't work for you, there's a link to the site map in the footer of every page - that'll get you around just as well.
3) The page looks best on screens that are at 1024x768 resolution. Larger screens will show more space on the side...smaller screens may even side scroll a little. When it looked good on my screen, I called it good!

* Why don't the buttons for skin choices work for me?

Probably because you're using the wrong browser. Like with the above faq explained, I put suggested specs on the main page for a reason. I know things work and look good when you follow those guidelines. If you don't, it's your choice but then you'll probably run into limitations and not get the full bang out of the site. Your choice.

As to the buttons to change the skins, I only know for sure that they work in IE - the more current the version the better. In Fire Fox, I tested it but it doesn't work. However, this is because many other browsers, such as Fire Fox, will show you style sheet choices for skins right in the browser. Simply look them up under the view tab of your FF browser.

The only caveat so far with FF, is at least when I tested it, one could choose a different skin in FF but for some reason the cookies to remember your preference don't take. In other words, you can switch but once you click on a different page of the site or come back for a return visit, you're switched back to the default. I'm working on trying to remedy that, but in the meantime, if you want a different design than the default, use IE.

* Why don't you have more info on items released in the UK?

Because this site is based in the USA, as am I, so I have more knowledge and access to items related to my own country. This is why it's so slow in going for me to get all the UK star comics up - the dollar/pound ratio is not kind on this side of the pond so it's not like I can afford to get my hands on much of that stuff at once.
However, anyone who does have these items and would like to donate scans and info to the site, I won't argue with that. Feel free to send it my way - and I will give you credit on the site, of course!

* You say this site is contributor friendly, but when I offered up some files you didn't want to host them. Why?

I think I touched on this a bit in the fan fic and art FAQs, but since not everyone comes here for that, I suppose it warrants repeating somewhat here.

I've been approached by well-meaning folks who have collected some great art, themes, wallpapers, media files and other stuff off the net, only to turn it all down. This is usually because the presenter of the files is not their creator.

I actually have several CDs full of stuff I've grabbed off the internet over the years...all kinds of digital pics, art, media files - you name it. However, I keep this stuff for my private collection, to enjoy offline.

Why? Because almost without exception, I don't put anything on this site I didn't make myself and/or get permission from the original creator to display. Of course, I made exceptions in a few cases (the VA outtakes, for one, seems how nobody seems to know who the heck made them). But overall, if I can't contact the owner and get their okay, I won't put it up on this site. And there have been times where I have contacted the creator of an item and either didn't get a reply or even a "sorry, but no". Imagine if I just assumed they'd be okay with it and posted the item! Not very polite, eh?

Many other sites don't seem to care about this standard of ethics and that's fine for them. But I do, and rarely make an exception to it. It might be because I find it annoying myself to run across a site that has snagged my work or files and displayed them w/o asking or credit (although with me, if I'm credited and/or linked back to, I'm pretty satisfied. However, I understand when others may appreciate the courtesy of asking first in addition to all that. These images, pages and files take much time and effort to create, so as a fellow site master and creative force, I sympathize with that. Because sometimes people want to know where their work is ending up and what sites it is being associated with...and may object to certain pages hosting their work for whatever personal reasons they may have. And that's within their rights to feel that way. Hence, this policy I have is an extra show of respect for people and what they create). So I'm going by the golden rule here, I suppose!

Besides this site, even as it grows ever-larger, isn't really supposed to be the home for *every* Thundercats file ever made. Ultimately, it's my site and I put up what I think needs to be here. If you want to take on the task of attemtping the "Thundercats site that has *everything*" more power to ya! And good luck.

That said, if you've made something or can point me to the person who created something you think is outstanding and would be a great addition to the site, let me know. I don't mind contributions as long as they're filtered through the proper channels.

* I have some stuff you might be interested in adding, but it's too valuable to simply donate. Would you compensate me for it?

I can certainly understand that - even simply the desire not to want to part with your original collectibles. Though I'm usually perfectly happy with donated scans...it's not often I actually *need* the real thing in my possession.
However, some things are so rare or unique, a note of thanks and a link just won't do it. So in cases like that, feel free to contact me and we can work out a barter or trade for the information. This also works well if you're interested in copies of something I have but don't want to buy them (although it's worth noting that I rarely part with an item myself, so you'd be getting copies as well). Though I usually won't pay cash unless I'm getting an original copy or at least physical copies of say, character sheets. The kind of thing I've been doing lately is trading copies or scans for equal copies or scans. For instance, you might be interested in entire copies of the scripts I have, and have more character sheets or comics I'm missing to offer in return for those - something like that.

Do note, that when I gain items by these means, I usually DO NOT give you a credit or link when I post the item gained on the site. And most likely, unless agreed upon otherwise, what I get from you will be posted in part at least, on the site - I am collecting things to share with other fans after all. Your reward is whatever you agreed was fair compensation from me when the deal was made be it money, scans, or copies of my stuff. I give donors that courtesy because they've given to the site w/o asking for much in return, so I figure it's the least I can do. If you'd also like that included on an item when it's posted on the net, you'll have to say something up front and make it part of the deal. Otherwise, it's my general policy to consider those items gained as mine fair and square and I treat them no different than if I'd bought the item off ebay or something.
It might seem obvious, but I recently went through some undue drama thanks to a similar misunderstanding, so it's worth spelling out at this point.

* How does clicking on the site host button help this site?

The button is in cooperation with my newest web host, and it's got a referral number attached to it that'll give me credit in the form of money off the costs to host this site on the Web whenever people use that link. But you need to do more than click on it. I believe it only gives me credit when people buy web hosting through it. Of course, if you have no use for a web host, don't worry about it. I just figure if you're in the market to buy hosting and/or move your existing site, you might consider siteground and help this place out in the process.
So far, I'm pretty happy with the service, cost and space of this host, so I do recommend it for others even if you don't use the sponsored link.

* What is with the forbidden error page? Why do I keep getting it?

The most common error page is the 404 - file not found page. That results from entering a file or url that isn't in existance. But what miffs a lot of people is the forbidden page. You'll only get that if you're up to no good, my friend.
It will usually only show up if you're A) trying to access an area you shouldn't be in anyway...admin areas, account areas and whatnot, or B) you're somewhere else on the net and trying to view an image remotely. Part of my hotlink protection is to throw that little error up in defense. Clicking on the url to an image will do that, too, and is pretty darn near the same as hotlinking. Either direct link to the *page* the image appears on - not the file - or come directly to the site. Rembember...page links good, image links bad. It may not be convenient for you, but I put the page up so people will come visit, not remote link my files all over the Web.

* Is the tone of this site really necessary? Thundercats was a kids' show for goodness sake!

Well, if you can't read the warning on the main page of the site, or the one that appears in the footer of practically every page, I hold out little hope you're here reading this so...all I can say is if you've surfed this site and are offended that's your own darn fault. Learn to read ;) I don't spend time typing out words to explain stuff and warn about things for my own health, that's for sure.

As to *why* the tone of the site is as it is, the simple explanation is...that's my take on the show and my natural way of speaking. And yeah, that means some cursing and off-color humor. It may have been a kids' show but I'm an adult looking at it as an adult, so I've got that perspective on it. And as such, I share it on the Web with the same spirit and tone. I don't let my own kid surf parts of the site, and neither should you, as it's not designed for kids or child fans. Hence the warning on the front page.

Granted, I also realize that not every "adult" fan cares for the sordid elements on the site, and that's fine. It's your right to prefer a clean or more "professional" presentation. However, this doesn't mean I'm going to appreciate being wanked at in emails about it, nor will I be convinced to change it if you make your case to me. There are plenty of other sites out there devoid of the "naughty" bits, so I suggest ya find 'em or start your own page. As long as it's me continuing to spend my own time and money on this chunk of web space, I will run it as I see fit, thanks.
Bottom line?
buh bye now!
The back button on your browser exists for a reason. Use it instead of clicking the email link to whine, k? You won't hurt my feelings any, trust me.

* Damn woman, do you have to be so rude?

Let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time, I was a lot nicer and a helluva lot more patient. Then I got on the internet and started a fan site. Not everyone, but enough fantards started emailing me with either stupid rants, ridiculous demands or other general junk that I've since lost patience over the years and now just cut to the brutal hard truth. Yes, I am now a cynical, bitter old shrew. Nice just doesn't pay in the fandom though...sorry! Tried it, didn't work. Good news is, as long as you're not a lamer or total non-reading asshat, we shouldn't have any problems and any sarcasm and rudeness will not be aimed at you :)

* Going to bite my head off if I email you?

As long as it seems like you put some effort into finding something out for yourself (i.e. I can tell you looked at one of the relevent site FAQs first, or otherwise looked at a section of the site that would have most obviously answered your question for you), I'm pretty pleasant. Though I also don't appreciate people who come off like entitlement whores either (in other words, people who seem as though I owe them something or I *have* to do what they want).
Be cool, use common sense, and I'll do the same. Golden rule and all that :)

* How Do I find out more about Purrsia?

I've recently decided to move most of my personal info to an off-site loacation and its own url. It's a work in progress, but here it is. See the Purrsia section under "Site" right here for some relevent general info about how I came to be such the Thundercats fan. All non-tcats related personal stuff has moved to the previous link, however.

* Why do spellings of characters and things sometimes vary from page to page on the site?

For starters, this site began in 2001 and slowly built up to what it is now. So the older sections/pages of the site are probably going to have some things off about them, particularly spellings of characters' names that didn't appear in ep titles or were otherwise obvious at the time to look up. Remember, back then a lot of things that are taken for granted on the internet for Thundercats weren't there and you had a lot of fan sites just winging it as best they could. Back then, there were half a dozen ways alone different fans spelled 'Lunatak' and in fact, that's still a widely variable term thanks to there not being as much Season Two reference material as there is for season one. I didn't come into scripts, character sheets, and other canonical material until much later at which time I finally learned the 'official' way to spell various things on the show.

Now that the site is so big, it'd be pretty tedious for me to go back through page by page and correct things to make them more consistant. My advice to you if you're looking for a resource that's accurate, is to stick to the scanned in scripts and other pages on the site that are based on official documentation for the show. The only place on the site I really expect to go back over and ensure some accuracy is with the Dictionary, given it is supposed to serve as a decent reference, and perhaps the ep guides eventually. Otherwise, where fic and other fanon musings are concerned, ignorance is the excuse and I'm sticking with it ;)
