Sandy Fries Reviewed by: Purrsia ![]() Lion-O and Tygra are taking on the task of burying one of their old suspension capsules, worried that the aging devices are a danger given they're full of unpredictable gases that put one in suspended animation. However, during the move, the crane Tygra is operating overturns on unstable ground. Lion-O runs to avoid being crushed, but the capsule flies loose in the direction he ran, exploding on impact and exposing Lion-O to a huge dose of the gas. Tygra asks Lion-O if he's okay, to which Lion-O gives an over-enthusiastic "I feel great!" - something is wrong. Back at the Lair, Tygra is about to break the bad news when Lion-O bursts into the control room on a Space Board. The Lord of the ThunderCats is reduced to a mere cub, and races about joyfully if irresponsibly. Panthro, Snarf and Cheetara are dumbfounded as Tygra explains what happened. Then he sends Lion-O out with Snarf to "play" while the adults try to figure out what to do. For some reason, Lion-O and Snarf end up eavesdropping inside a vent in the Lair, and overhear that Lion-O will keep getting younger until he no longer exists. Tygra hatches the plan to put Lion-O in the Cave of Time, despite the dangers involved. Over at Dark Side, the Lunies are on the move in Sky Tomb and Luna notices Snarf and a miniature Lion-O out and about. Of course, her plot is to snatch him up. Lion-O is feeling adventurous, wishing to find the Cave by himself - this is why he left without the others. Snarf on the other hand is torn between wanting to have an escort and wanting to stay with Lion-O - Snarf has easily slipped into uber-nurse maid mode. While Luna closes in, Lion-O decides to cross the River of Despair where he shouldn't given he no longer even knows what "dispair" means. He succeeds in arousing the Tongue-a-Saurus and narrowly escapes. Their luck runs out when Chilla and Luna are waiting for the pair on the River bank. Chilla ices them both, but thanks to Snarf's prompting, Lion-O uses the Sword to free himself. However, the effort falls flat and they're captured anyway. Back in Sky Tomb, Luna decides to keep Lion-O alive long enough to study the process that reversed his aging in the hopes of revisting her youth. But in an embarrassing turn of events for the Lunataks, Lion-O boots Alluro in the shin, steals his psyche club and manages to signal the others with the Sword. Lion-O then zaps all the Lunies with the Sword and escapes Sky Tomb's control room - Remember, he's only about 4 years old here lol Poor Lunies. However, while running down the hall, he and Snarf fall into a trap door that lands them in a prison cell - and without the Sword. Shortly thereafter, Lion-O's age regresses again so that he's just a toddler. This gives Snarf an idea about how to escape - mainly by sending Lion-O up the shute they just came out of. However, they can't reach the chute. Meanwhile, Tygra, Cheetara and Panthro arrive to answer Lion-O's call. Panthro was worried about how to get into Sky Tomb, but after the Lunies attack and capture them it turned out to be quite easy to get in. In fact, they're tossed into the same cell Lion-O and Snarf are already in. Lion-O shrinks down to two years old, which gives Tygra the idea to slide him through the barred window on the door so that the toddler can unlock it once he's out in the hall. They escape, but by the time they get to the Cave, Lion-O is too little to walk in...he can only crawl. What's more, he's fussy and hungry and doesn't want to cooperate long enough to crawl in. Then Panthro decides to coax the little guy with an old space ration that he had in the Tank. Lion-O dutifully pursues the biscuit into the cave, and with the help of a rope they tied on him, he's tugged back just in time to emerge as him grown self. Back at the Lair, they all marvel at what a handful little Lion-O was - name carved into the wall, teething marks on Panthro's nun-chucks, etc - much to Lion-O's embarrassment. Then Lion-O makes a joke about making that space ration into a weapon - it was that stale and hard lol! Overall, the insight into how the capsules worked coupled with the humor in Lion-O being a child makes this episode worthwhile to see. The suspension capsules worked by using an anti-aging gas to keep its occupant from aging too much on long space journeys. Lion-O just got exposed to too much here. "Non-existant! That'll be like being invisible!" - Young Lion-O, not grasping the gravity of his situation. "Aw, no hugging. It's mushy." - Lion-O, not impressed with Snarf's affection. "We're gonna have fun, Snarfy! Don't be such a wimpy-dimpy." - A much younger and adventurous Lion-O to Snarf. "Take a chill pill, fur ball." - Chilla to Snarf just before she ices him. "Sword of Omens, come to my rescue!" - A mini-Lion-O's cry for help. Shay Leona: Lion-o was such an annoying child! Geez! He was a cute baby though...I'm sorry cub. leppardra: I love how Larry did Lion-O as a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a bawling baby. Hysterical! Interesting how both the Sword of Omens and the Claw Shield shrank along with Lion-O; I guess the writers wanted him to able to at least use the Sword against the Lunataks. The Tongue-a-saurus was an amusing creation. Cougar: Lion-O was such a cute little baby... personally, he reminds me of my three-month-old nephew. And this episode perfectly solidifes that fact that Snarf treated Lion-O just like his very own son. Snarf was "Uncle Osbert" personified right her. LOL
