Not bad, but not fabulotastic neither

This episode begins with the Mutants hiding in wait for the Tabbott, PinchPenny, who has just collected rent from the Balkans and Wolos. As the Mutants rob the greedy Tabbott, they encourage him to yell for help, in hopes of luring the ThunderCats into their trap.

Right on cue, Cheetara and Tygra go to investigate the cries for help only to find themselves trapped in a sticky net. The SoO warns Lion-O of the fix those two are in, and he and Panthro set off in the Tank to rescue them. Of course, the ThunderCats make short work of the Mutants.

The Muties go home fuming at yet another defeat. They become convinced that they need to retrieve their advanced weaponry from their sunken ship. So, they set off to ask Mumm-Ra to raise their spaceship from the Desert of Sinking Sands.

After a bit of haggling, Mumms agrees to raise the ship. Slithe and the others quickly learn that the ship itself isn't operational, but they figure they can salvage the parts. They also retreive 3 vehicles: two Skycutters and a Nosediver. The Mutants head out to attack Cats Lair. After a short battle at the Lair, Lion-O and Panthro pursue Slithe in the ThunderTank. Slithe tricks them into going off a cliff into the sea, where the Tank capsizes over a fissure on the sea floor.

Lion-O and Panthro swim ashore in an attempt to head back to the Lair and retreive some equipement with which to right the Tank. However, Jackalman and Monkian attack astride their Skycutters. So Lion-O summons the other ThunderCats to deal with those two while he and Panthro return to the sea to do what they can to save the Tank. They enlist the help of a few Seaquines but in the end it's Slithe who ends up unwittingly pulling the Tank out with the Nosediver.

Mumm-Ra is angry at the Mutants for failing. He orders the Muties to retur all the stuff they salvaged to the ship. In a bold move, Slithe refuses to obey and Mumm-Ra actually lets the display of insolence go unpunished.

Fave Quotes:

"You'll be wearing that grin on the back of your head when the other ThunderCats get here, Slithe." --Cheetara, after she and Tygra were snared in the net.

"We may as well be fighting them with mudpies." --Monkian, on the state of disgrace that is Mutant weaponry.

A point of interest:

Jackalman sports some kind of rock tossing wrist device at the show's start.
