Great Holy Jaga! This 'sode rawks!!

Easily the funniest freakin' episode ever! The hijinx begin when Vultureman unveils his latest invention - The Shifter. Poor Panthro and Snarf are just minding their own business in the Lair doing odd jobs and repairs when - BAM! - they're hit by a blue beam. They're shocked to discover that Panthro's mind has been switched with Snarf's and vice versa.

They're not the only ones destined to endure such a Freaky Friday style fate. To demonstrate his new invetion for his comrades, Vultureman switches Slithe with Jackalman. When Slithe demands he be changed back (Jackalman is already complaining about feeling slimy even though reptiles aren't really slimy lol), Vultureman hasn't quite figured that part out. Oops. So for now, the two swapped Mutants have to deal with their new bodies.

Meanwhile, Panthro is pissed that he can't do much with Snarf's useless body. So, since he can't finish repairing the Lair's communications console, they must try to find the others to get help via the ThunderTank. Hilarity ensues as 'Snarf' tries to drive the Tank - a clip of which can be found here. However, the Mutants put a damper on the Tank lesson by shooting at it until it falls into a ravine. 'Snarf' is trapped in the wreckage so Panthro must climb out of the ravine and do the best he can in Snarf's stubby little body to get help. At least he finds Snarf's prehensile tail helpful in climbing.

Out in the forest, Lion-O and WilyKat are out on the space boards having a little fun. But a warning growl from the Sword, in which Lion-O sees the Lair under attack and what he believes to be Panthro trapped in the Tank, puts an end to the fun. They come upon the overturned Tank first and they're shocked to hear Snarf's voice coming from Panthro's body. Lion-O lifts the Tank so it's upright again and they all race to the Lair, which is unguarded.

The Mutants have taken full advantage of the unmanned Lair. Though Monkian actually gets his ass kicked by 'Panthro', the others are inside destroying anything they can (in an amusing scene, Slithe had to remind Jackalman to watch what he was doing with HIS body after he darn near got electrocuted).

The best part is when Panthro arrives and tries to use tough talk and nunchucks to frighten the Mutants, neither of which is effective while in Snarf's body. Needless to say, the Mutants have Panthro on the run. Of course, the ThunderTank arrives just in time to lend a hand. But, the switcheroo fun isn't over yet! Vultureman manages to fire off a shot that swaps Lion-O with Kat. This presents the unique problem of the Sword of Omens not responding to Lion-O's body nor his voice - not while they're not as one, anyway. The Mutants think they have this wrapped up. That is, until Lion-O and Kat call to the others in unison which does the trick.

But before they can even get there, Vultureman is dumb enough to try to blast the open Eye of Thundera with the Shifter. All this accomplishes is the undoing of all the switches not to mention causing the gun to backfire of sorts, resulting in one last switch - Vultureman and Monkian. Monkian is now at the Flying Machine's controls but doesn't know how to fly the thing, so they crash. Knowing the other Thundercats are on their way, Slithe wisely decides to leave.
Much laughing is to be had at the end when Cheetara makes an unwitting crack along the lines of "if I were you..." Doh!

Favorite Quotes:

Panthro (while whipping around nunchucks most un-impressively thanks to being stuck with Snarf's stubby limbs): I'm going to teach you Mutants a lesson!

Vultureman: You couldn't teach us to knit!

Panthro, when trying to teach 'Snarf' how to drive the Tank - perhaps one of the most famous lines to fans as well: Keep your foot off the blasted samoflange!

Shay Leona: This episode is so funny. I love how Panthro as Snarf entered the control room with his nunchucks acting all tough and masculine Snarf's stubby body. Panthro's theme music to the scene made it even funnier.

leppardra: Ah, yes, the infamous "samophlange" story! Or is it "samoflange"? Oh, WTF! :D
