Peter Lawrence Reviewed by Brandon Tomblin (aka Alluro Fan) Site: TF Archive as Jhiaxus Email: king_sexy18@hotmail.com ![]() During a thunderstorm, Mumm-Ra creates a rock giant (hence the title of the episode) to try to destroy the Thundercats at Cats' Lair in his latest plot. Meanwhile, Wilykit and Wilykat get caught in the storm out in a forest and their spaceboards are damaged. They send a message back to the Lair and ask to be rescued like the helpless whimps that they are. lol. While the Thunderkittens are still out in the forest after the storm has stopped, they are spotted by Jackalman on a Sky Cutter. Using their usual tricks in their pouches, they are able to tie Jackalman up and steal his Sky Cutter. Meanwhile, Lion-O and Panthro are out looking for the Thunderkittens in the Thundertank when they spot Jackalman's Sky Cutter. However, they don't know that Wilykit and Wilykat are the ones piloting the vehicle and they begin firing. The kittens then radio Lion-O and Panthro to tell them to stop the attack. After the mis-understanding is cleared up, the four are confronted by Mumm-Ra's rock giant. After quickly realizing that the Thundertank can't beat the rock giant, they decide to haul ass back to Cats' Lair with the rock giant in hot purr-suit. ;) Meanwhile, Cheetara, Tygra, and Snarf see that the others are being chased by the giant and extend the drawbridge so they can cross. While trying to discover a way to deal with the giant, Jaga appears to Lion-O and tells of how back in the old day, the old Thundercats didn't use high-tech weapons and machinery to deal with their enemies. All they had, according to Jaga, was fire and water, heat and cold. Hearing this, Lion-O gets an idea and rushes back outside to face the giant. He uses the sword (as always) to do his work for him. Anyway, he uses the sword to make the giant white-hot. After that, Lion-O uses the claw shield to swing away from the giant as he falls into the chasm at Cats' Lair, where the cold water contracts his expanded hot body too fast, and he splits apart. Mumm-Ra sees what has happend again, and as always, claims that this defeat is just another temporary setback and that he'll just have to try again. Poor mummsie. So we get a lesson about weather (hay kidz, don't stand under a tree in a lightning storm :-B), plus a gratuitous science lesson on expanding and contracting things. Mumm-Ra was basically foiled by Jaga disguised as Bill Nie. That sucks. Oh, and if all the ancients had to fight with was the elements, is it really fair that Lion-O uses the Sword?? Yeah, didn't think so ;) He should have sat by that giant's foot and worked two sticks together before the giant stomped him into oblivion...now that would have been exciting. Plus we would have had a boyscout fire starting lesson. You can't lose with my theory here ;) One of few episodes where the ThunderTank is utterly and completely demolished! Mwahahahaha. *comments on this ep temporarily disabled for a bit - thank you little, spammers!*
