44. Jackalman's Rebellion

Not bad, but not fabulotastic neither...

While Lion-O and Panthro are out and about in the ThunderTank, they noticed the Mutants closing in. However, instead of the attack they expected they noticed the Mutants were shooting at each other. The reason? Jackalman had hijacked the Flying Machine, deciding he'd be better off without the others. Thanks to ThunderCat interference, Jackalman gets away.

Later, Jackalman is seen with his 'recruits' - Mole Master and the Driller - and now fancies himself General Jackalman. Finding the Flying Machine, Slithe and Monkian land only to be ambushed by Jackalman's new lackeys. Jackalman's army turns the Mutants away and so they are free to cause thouble throughout Third Earth.

The first skirmish comes about when Cheetara goes to rescue a trapped unicorn and comes face to face with the Driller. Once the tide turns in favor of Cheetara, Jackalman shows up to rescue the Driller - which Cheetara finds disturbing (she didn't like the idea of them working so well together, apparently). Next, a Balkan shows up at the Lair telling tales of more destruction and terror being spread by Jackalman's army. The adult 'Cats immediately head to the Balkan and Wolo villages.

In the ensuing fight, the Tank gets turned on its side, so it's up to Cheetara to catch up to the fleeing Mole Master while the others follow Jackalman and Driller. It's a good thing, too, as Jackalman was about to dig out a huge Thundrainium canon he'd stashed in the forest.

The Driller and Jackalman split up and so do Tygra and Lion-O in pursuit of them. The fight between Jackalman and Lion-O is actually quite good as Lion-O takes a few lumps. The other Mutants were lurking in the forest and also pile on the attacks - Lion-O is forced to call for help. The Mutants are ultimately run off, but Jackalman lingers in the forest and watches as the Thundercats show their unity and ponder his fate as a lone and lonely Mutant.

We don't have to wait long to find out. In the final scene, Kit, Kat and Snarf are watching the Mutants on the telescreen as they harass, badger and otherwise make Jackalman beg to get back into their good graces.
