Leonard Starr Reviewed by Brandon Tomblin (aka Alluro Fan) Site: TF Archive as Jhiaxus Email: king_sexy18@hotmail.com ![]() The next morning, Lion-O is still trapped in the mummy wrappings, when suddenly, sunlight enters the part of the pyramid where he’s at and the mummy wrappings disolve. Lion-O then frees his hair from the door and decides to head straight for Fire Rock Mountain in the “borrowed” Sky-Cutter to rescue the Thunderians (It’s never even revealed how Lion-O found out). Meanwhile, on Hook Mountain, Panthro is trapped underneath the Thundertank, which is upside-down and on fire. Tygra and Cheetara then arrive in the Hovercat and Thunderclaw to help. With the help from Snowman and Snowmeow, they are all able to put out the fire and lift the Thundertank and put it back on it’s tracks. Panthro then rushes to see if the Thundertank will start, and it barely does. The three ‘Cats then say farewell to Snowman and Snowmeow and head out to resume the search for the Thunderians. Meanwhile, Monkian is out driving the Fist-Pounder until he stops halfway on the only road that leads to FRM. He plans to stay there until the Thundertank has to use that road. The Thunderians overhear this in their cells while Slithe and Jackalman talk to Monkian through a com-link and decide that they need to do something fast. Elsewhere, Ratar-O and Vultureman are flying the Rat Star, when Mumm-Ra comes on their telescreen. Mumm-Ra requests that the two Mutants journey to FRM to reinforce Slithe and Jackalman, but Ratar-O refuses, since he claims to already have destroyed the Thundertank. But of course, we all know that Mumm-Ra never takes no for an answer, so Ratar-O and Vultureman finally decide to go to FRM. When Ratar-O suggests that they take the direct route, they come across Tuskania, home to Turmagar and the Tuska Warriors. Turmagar and his men see the Rat Star and open fire. The Rat Star is damaged and Ratar-O exits the ship to battle the Tuskas while Vultureman makes repairs to the ship. After Vultureman is finished, Ratar-O returns to the ship and they take off…but not for long, as the ship quickly plunges into a river. Afterwards, Turmagar and the Tuskas hear a strange sound, which happens to be Snarf, who managed to escape the Rat Star during the fight, but is still in his chains. The Tuskas then free Snarf from his chains and Turmagar tells Snarf to explain what is going on. That night, Snarf is with the Tuskas around a campfire and has explained what is going on with the Thunderians. Suddenly, they spot the Berzerkers’ ship and realize that the Berzerkers may be on shore. Snarf and Turmagar go to investigate. They spot the Berzerkers on the beach around a campfire and Hammerhand is dividing up the gold that Mumm-Ra paid them for the capture of the Thunderians. Ram-Bam, Top-Spinner, and Cruncher are all upset that Hammerhand kept most of the gold and only gave his crew a little bit of it. Hammerhand has a plan on how they can get more gold from Mumm-Ra. He suggests that they take the sea approach to FRM and re-capture the Thunderians, so they can be sold to Mumm-Ra yet again. Snarf and Turmagar try to avoid this from happening by taking a gomplin out to sea and towing the Berzerkers’ ship away from them. When Snarf gets aboard the ship to attach a rope, he hears talking beneath the deck. He opens a floor door to reveal the two Berbils that brought the Thunderians to Third Earth. Snarf suggests that they “borrow” one of the Berzerkers’ jet lifeboats to get to shore and escape their prison. The Berbils comply and Snarf climbs a ladder back up to Turmagar and the gomplin and they begin pulling the Berzerkers’ ship. The Berzerkers hear the jet lifeboat and see their ship moving away. They then rush to their jet lifeboat and start racing to try to catch up to their ship. Back at FRM, Bengali is able to help Pumyra free herself from her chains. They all notice that there are iron rings high above on the ceiling. Lynx-O tells Pumyra to jump up and grab one of the rings. Lynx-O then uses his powerful mind abilities to make a glass break where Slithe and Jackalman are eating. Jackalman goes off to investigate. When he enters the prisoners’ cell, Pumyra drops from the ceiling and clobbers Jackalman. They then get his keys and Lynx-O is freed. Before they can un-chain Bengali, Slithe enters the room and tries to stop them, but Lynx-O is able to temporarily paralize Slithe with one touch of his finger (Damn, he’s pretty tough). Lynx-O and Pumyra then free Bengali and the three then go to try to find a way out of the cave. Whenever the three start to lose their strength again, they realize that they will have to try to cross the Thundrainium pits to escape FRM, which will be almost impossible to do. Meanwhile, at Mumm-Ra’s pyramid, the mummy realizes that all of the Thundercats are now headed for FRM. Mumm-Ra believes that his plan to destroy the Thundercats is fool-proof, but that the Eye of Thundera must be put out of commission, and that there is only one swordsman who has ever been a match for Lion-O. With that, Mumm-Ra summons Hachiman to appear once again. Hachiman tells Mumm-Ra that he’s wasting his time, because he won’t serve Mumm-Ra again (see The Thunder-Cutter episode). Mumm-Ra then starts feeding lies to Hachiman with the cauldron about Lion-O having Hachiman’s great uncle, Nishida held captive. Mumm-Ra then lies that Lion-O hopes to gain added samurai strength and skill for himself, to terrorize Third Earth. Hachiman protests, saying that “Lion-O-San” is a man of honor. Mumm-Ra then casts a spell on Hachiman so Mumm-Ra’s story is more believable. Mumm-Ra then sends Hachiman out to find Lion-O and destroy him. Later, Lion-O reaches FRM in the “borrowed” Sky-Cutter and is feeling weaker already, thanks to the effects from the Thundrainium pits. He thinks that if he runs across the bridge fast enough, then maybe he won’t be affected so badly. But first, he decides to use the sword to call the other Thundercats to him. Afterwards, he sees that Hachiman is on the other side of the bridge, waiting for him. Hachiman tells Lion-O that he’s come to put an end to his evil. Hachiman then tells Lion-O what Mumm-Ra told him about his relative. Lion-O tries to convince his possessed friend that Mumm-Ra was lying, but Hachiman protests, since Mumm-Ra showed him “proof” of his betrayal. When Hachiman goes to attack Lion-O, he slips and begins to fall of the bridge. Lion-O rushes to his friend to pull him back up. However, after Hachiman is saved, Lion-O himself slips on the bridge. Hachiman thinks about saving Lion-O, but then remembers what Mumm-Ra said and decides to go in for the kill… Lynx-O apparently has the natural abilities to manipulate things with his mind as well as a touch which is very similar to that of the famous Vulcan neck pinch. Perhaps the writers were closet trekkies heh heh Lion-O then frees his hair from the door and decides to head straight for Fire Rock Mountain in the “borrowed” Sky-Cutter to rescue the Thunderians (It’s never even revealed how Lion-O found out). Holy convenient plot holes! Yeesh...but at least he didn't have to cut that gorgeous mane ;) comment system disabled temporarily thanks to spam happy assholes!
