Book of Omens [open]
Alliance
Good (Thunderian)
Description
The Book of Omens was part of the Treasure of Thundera. Its written in a way that's apparently hard to decipher, but is said to hold the secrets of the ThunderCats and their powers. One can also enter the Book using the Sword of Omens, but the Guardian that awaits within literally lights a fire under your ass if you don't produce the Key of Thundera.
Other Information
Played a large role in the latter half of the series.

Instrument of Good (Thundercats)
Description
This device was made especially for blind Thundercat Lynx-O and it allows him to take in a wealth of information about his surroundings through his fingers.

Chain of Loyalty
Alliance
Instrument of Good (Thundercat)
Description
The chain is part of the Treasure of Thundera and is featured in the Book of Omens. Its function, as long as the delicate chain is held intact, is to insure the other 'Cats loyalty to Lion-O. If broken, however, the 'Cats will turn on one another and especially, on Lion-O.
Other Information
It was the focal point of the episode, "Chain of Loyalty".
Claw Shield
Alliance
Instrument of Good (Thundercat)
Description
Given to Lion-O at the same time he gained the Sword of Omens, this special gauntlet has multi-purpose function. When not in use for combat, it rests at Lion-O's side and serves as a sheath for the Sword of Omens. During battle, Lion-O can slip on this special glove, which extends to nearly his elbow. There it serves as a shield that can block enemy blows. It also can double as a tool to help him climb by either utilizing the claw feature or by extending a grapling cable out from the three jewels that dot the knuckle area. In a few episodes, gases were seen to emit from this same location in the shield which allowed Lion-O cover and a chance to escape. Finally, its surface is reflective and was used many times to fend off Mumm-Ra by showing him his reflection in it.

Eye of Thundera
Alliance
Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Embedded in the hilt of the Sword of Omens, it is the source of the ThunderCats' powers. Evidence of this is when Lion-O does something stupid to bust the Eye or the Sword in general, the ThunderCats become about as useful as an old man sans his viagra subscription. Nope, 'tain't pretty.
For specifics on what the Eye and Sword can do, see the Sword of Omens term elsewhere.
Other Information
This thing is like the holy grail of the series...everyone is tripping over themselves to possess the dern thing.
The Eye was damaged twice in the series.
1) In "Excalibur", Arthur's famous sword bests the Sword of Omens, claiming victory by piercing the Eye. The fallout was the Thundercats' insignias disappearing with all of them losing strength and arguably, dying as a result. Luckily, Merlin sets things right and denies Mumm-Ra his victory.
2) In "The Thunderscope", Mumm-Ra lays such a smackdown on Lion-O that the Eye is basically singed to a crisp by his magic, leaving Lion-O arguably dead in Snarf's arms. Jaga appears, blows a puff of breath into the smoking hole in the sword where the Eye used to be, thereby restoring it. Then Lion-O recovers. How convenient.

F
Feliner
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Another of Panthro's little "toys", the Feliner lacked a funky thing called a megacondensor that would make it space-worthy. The Thundercats actually *stole* this piece of equipment from Ratar-O's ship, the Rat Star. So much for the Code, eh?
Other Information
By the end of the two-parter "The Feliner", the ship was up and running and ready to take Snarfer home. Snarf almost went with him, too. Damned if he didn't stay! So much for happy endings ;)
Fist Pounder
Alliance
Transport of Evil (Mutants)
Description
A Mutant invention that destroys thing mainly by the giant, fist-like smashing apperatus in the front.
Other Information
Debuted in ThunderCats HO! Part II
Flag Ship
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
The Royal Flag Ship was the vessel which carried the ThunderCat nobles from a dying Thundera. It was also the only ship in the convoy not destroyed by the Mutants in the subsequent attack. Heavily damaged, Jaga had to forgo suspension to pilot it to their alternate destination, Third Earth.
Other Information
It crash landed in Exodus, but parts of it were salvaged to help build the ThunderTank and Cats Lair.
Flying Machine
Alliance
Transport of Evil (Mutants)
Description
An awkward looking bird-plane that Vultureman invented. It has blown up and/or caught on fire many, many times. It's not fit for space travel and has the usual defenses one might expect a combat-ready ship to have -- lazers, guns, etc.
Other Information
Shows up out of the blue with Vultureman, in "Lord of the Snows".
Four Winds
Alliance
Instrument of Evil (Mutants)
Description
The torture device that Slithe strapped Tygra to in "Slaves of Castle Plundarr", its function is to draw and quarter the victim.

Lion-O saved Tygra from this fate in the ep in question...as if that's a surprise.

H
Hammer of Thundera
Alliance
Instrument of Good (Thundercats)

Bengali's specialized weapon, this just isn't any old blacksmith's hammer. It's a special hammer passed down through generations and can not only re-forge the Sword of Omens if the blade should break, but it can also fire on enemies.
Other Information
Its use and history wasn't shown or explained until the Mumm-Ra Lives! series.
Hover Cat
Alliance
Transport of Good (Thundercats)

One of several Thundercat ships manufactured by Panthro in the second season. This one has no particular special capabilities as far as I can remember, other than of course, hovering.

R
Rat Star
Alliance
Transport of Evil (Mutants)
Description
Ratar-O's ship, it's armed to the teeth with various canons, beams, and missiles. And Lion-O took it down with the frickin' claw shield. Don't ask....
Other Information
The ThunderCats stole the megacondensor from this ship to make the Feliner operational. Grand larceny part of the Code now, eh? Best of all, Mr. Incapable of Evil himself, Snarf, came up with the idea to steal it. heh heh.

Space Boards
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Surfboard-like hover crafts Panthro whipped up for the Thunderkittens to get around on.
Other Information
Kit is not only much more skilled at riding the boards than her brother, but she's somewhat of a daredevil.
Star of Thundera
Alliance
Instrument of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Retreiving it from deep space, Jaga formed it into a powerful talismen that helped render the effects of Thundrainium useless against Lion-O. When Mumm-Ra tried to possess it, the power within destroyed both the mummy and Fire Rock Mountain.
Other Information
Was only used as a cheap plot device in the last installment of the ThunderCats HO! series. And no, it did not destroy Mumm-Ra forever.
Sword of Omens (extended)
Sword of Omens (shortened)
Alliance
Good (ThunderCats)
Description
The mystic Eye of Thundera is embedded in its hilt, which is the source of the ThunderCats' power.
It can go from dagger length to regular sword length as Lion-O calls upon its powers with the famous "Thundercats Ho!" chant. Lion-O can summon the sword to his hand with a simple command.
In addition to sending up a symbol that summons the other ThunderCats, the sword can shoot energy beams and produce a protective force field.
The Eye within growls to warn Lion-O that he or his fellow ThunderCats are in danger, and can also grant him Second Sight [Sight Beyond Sight] so that he may see what danger awaits. However, the Sword has no psychic powers in the way that Second Sight will reveal what happened in the past or what will happen in the future - it only reveals what's in the here and now.
Later it can be used to enter/exit the Book of Omens and even travel through time and space when used in conjunction with the Book.
Other Information
The only problem I have with this Sword is it got more powerful -- nay, too powerful -- toward series' end.
By then it could do all sorts of things - Lion-O could fly with it, it could cause an eclipse, effect the weather, magically right whatever ailed whoever...please! I prefer the season one, somewhat limited sword.
The Sword's blade was broken 4 times during the series.
1) In "All That Glitters" the plot centered around the breaking of the Sword when it was used against another Thundercat and how Lion-O almost died trying to melt it back together in a volcano. The Enflamer forges it back together, but being a mercenary, the 'Cats have to fight to get it back from him.
2) "Mumm-Ra Lives Part II" marks the second time the SoO gets broken to pieces and TugMug is the culprit now. Why isn't
Lion-O breaking any sweat about it then? Because Bengali reforges it later on, being the blacksmith that he is - having the hammer of thundera in his possession helped.*
3) In "Return to Thundera Part II", Grune shatters the blade into a million pieces and it's up to Snarf to take the remnants of the Sword and find Bengali to salvage it in time. However, a guy who rides around looking for scrap in a giant flying furnace finds Snarf and the Sword first and puts the Sword back together for him. His name was Charr.
4) Lastly, the Sword is snapped in "The Heritage" by a super-powerful Mumm-Ra, given that the coveted Golden Sphere of Seti gave him 4 times his usual power. Once again, the Sword is mended by Charr, the flying furnace dude, in exchange for the Thundercats getting his ship up and running again.
In addition, the actual Eye of Thundera was damaged twice. See Eye of Thundera term for that.
Sword of Plun-Darr
Alliance
Evil (Mutants/Mumm-Ra)
Description
Evil's answer to the Sword of Omens. Ratilla was the original owner, and Mumm-Ra ended up rescuing it from the debris of Old Thundera.
It's a double edged, razor sharp weapon that boasts a hilt that resembles two snakes intertwined. Mumm-Ra liks to spin it then toss it at his enemies in the hopes of sawing them in two.
Other Information
Jaga wrested the Sword from Ratilla long ago, and tossed it into the core of Thundera -- this, turns out, is what caused the destruction of Thundera. Go figure.

ThunderClaw
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
This vehicle came about in the latter half of the series, supposedly to provide extra ships given the new allies and enemies gained by the ThunderCats. But we all know it was to sell more toys :-p
The claw-like appartus on the sides can fold down and make a grasping motion.
Other Information
No other information at this time.
Thunder Cutter
Alliance
Good (Hachiman)
Description
The Thundercutter is the weapon of ThunderCats ally Hachiman. In "Hachiman's Honor", it was shown to be able to sense the intent of its weilder as either being good or evil and much like the Sword of Omens, tends to dislike evil vibes.
Other Information
Several eps feature Hachiman and his sword - "The Thundercutter", "Hachiman's Honor", and "The Jade Dragon".
ThunderStrike
Alliance
Transport of Good (Thundercats)
Description
Yet another vehicle that rapidly appeared in the Thundercat fleet early in the second season, this ship consists of three units with the two side compartments able to break off independent of the third. The newer Thundercats tended to pilot this one most often, with Lynx-O at the controls in the main pod using his Braille Board.
This ThunderCat aircraft is introduced in Mumm-Ra Lives Part II to accommodate the ever increasing demand
for mass feline transit. Shameless Voltron ripoff or catchy ideas milking? You decide.*
Other Information
The Thunder Strike is the ship used most often to navigate the treacherous Forests of Mists to enter Dark Side.
ThunderTank
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
This is Panthro's baby. He built it out of scraps from their wrecked spacecraft and is very protective of it.
It has an array of defenses -- guns, lasers, canons -- a slew of tracking devices and computer technology on board, as well as neat leaping, grappling, and even aqua capabilities.
Other Information
Built in the episode "Berbils". It was stomped flat by the giant in "The Rock Giant".
Totem of Dera
Alliance
Instrument of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Part of the Treasure of Thundera, Mumm-Ra found it and had Vultureman build a weapon so that its healing properties could be used to make gruesome creatures emerge from the Baleful Swamp instead.
It only appeared in the "Totem of Dera".
Other Information
Shortly after it was used to save Lion-O's life, the Totem was lost in the bogs of the Baleful Swamp.
Treasure of Thundera
Alliance
Instruments of Good (ThunderCats)
Description
Various magical items, thought lost in the destruction of Thundera, were the subject of the ultimate scavenger hunt between the Thundercats and Mumm-Ra when New Thundera formed. Among the items included in the Treasure were the Book of Omens, the Chain of Loyalty, the Totem of Dera, etc along with your typical coins and jewels (pictured is the case the treasure was stored in before it was scattered across New Thundera).
Other Information
Each item of the Treasure played a pivotal role in the final episode, "Book of Omens".

W
Warbot
Alliance
Evil (Mutants)
Description
A giant war machine, the warbot was a Mutant invention made to withstand any attack from the ThunderCats so it could get close enough to turn them to stone.
Unfortunately, it had an achilles heel of sorts.
Other Information
Featured in "Return to Thundera".
Warp Gas
Alliance
Weapon of Evil (Mutants)
Description
Warp gas, long since banned by the Interstellar Council according to Tygra, is an underhanded tool of the Mutants. Generally, it's contained in a grenade-like device. But instead of exploding, it emits a gas that reverses the nature of whoever inhales it -- warps their personality, you could say. So someone in a fierce, confrontational mood would turn into a trembling coward after breathing in a good dose of gas and so forth.
Other Information
Used in two eps, "Slaves of Castle Plundarr" and "Fond Memories".
Whisker [in flight]
Whisker [at work]
Alliance
Transport of Good (ThunderCats)

This morphing mechanical menace terrorized miniaturized ThunderCats in the "Wolf Rat" episode.
