The Merchandising Monster

Ok, I've decided to be crazy enough to tackle all the merchandising that surrounded ThunderCats. This section will attempt to list and note information on anything and everything that was licensed for Thundercats - from toys to toothbrushes to alarm clocks and bedding. Be patient, as it's a work in progress. Also note that I'm not big into collecting toys and such, so the information below is just based on what I've seen by surfing sites over the years and observing what things sell for on the auction sites.

For printed materials released for Thundercats, be sure to visit the Print Media area of the site.

Of course any help is appreciated so if you know some information on a posted item or see an item that is missing, feel free to email me the pics or info. I'll be happy to give you credit, of course, complete with links back to your site if you have one.

As an aid to collectors, I've supplied a list straight from Rankin-Bass' old archives as to which companies were licenses to release what.

Fan Collections

Fan Collections:
Share with other fans your collections! Join the gallery and create your album within the Fan Collections category. You'll get 20MB of space to work with, but public viewing is pending my approval. This is just to make sure people are using this area for its intended purpose.

Toys & Games

The Toy Line:
In the 80s, LJN released a big ol' line of plastic playthings. I've attempted to catalogue them all here. You can also go here for a quick list of the main figures in the old line.

Games
I've noticed there were several things to entice tykes from puzzles and board games to video games. I'm attempting to list it all here.

Accessories & Apparel

Accessories:
This is a broad area that encompasses everything that doesn't fit elsewhere - from wall clocks and duvet covers to duffle bags and toothbrushes, it's listed here.

Apparel
No blue Spedos here - just a listing of current and vintage clothing offered for ThunderCats. I'm going to keep it to the licensed products rather than the cafe press bootleg items - afterall any boob with a scanner or iron can make that stuff!

Videos

Videos:
Yes, there were VHS tapes produced in the 80s for Tcats. To my knowledge, the entire series was never put out, but several tapes with select episodes were...both in the States and the UK. A run-down of those is here.

DVDs:
There's been lots of fan-made bootlegs going around, but this link only lelicenses to professional stuff.
