What are the ThunderCats Annual Fandom Awards?

Hopefully, the Yahoo group I set up in February of 2003 will be the place where annual award nominations and voting will take place for the online ThunderCats fandom. It will be the chance for the online fandom at large to nominate and then vote for their favorite contributions to the TC web community. Winning sites, authors and artists will recieve an award that they may display at their leisure, a link and a mention in the Awards section of my site, and be immortalized in an archive of who was nominated and who won kept at the Yahoo Group.

What do the awards look like?

For the Award Year 2007, Award design duties belong to Kern, and a prototype design can be viewed below. This year he made the extra effort of designing nomination graphics for all nominees as well.



Who can join and when does voting take place?

Anyone is welcome to join, nominate, and participate in voting. I hope to hold nominations and voting every year around January for the prior year. All you need do is subscribe to the Yahoo Group once, and you will be notified by email when activities at the Group are to take place. I will also try to announce happenings at the club to some message boards and at this site as well. Lately, we've taken a different approach and have volunteers to head different committees. Jobs for next year will be offered soon, so stop by the group if you think you'll want to lend a hand in next year's awards.

There's got to be rules. What are they?

The rules and details seem to get a little longer every year, so I think it's likely best for you to scoot on over to the group and peruse the appropriate files stored in the Files area. I'm actually in the process of revising the rules and procedures, so if you want a say in them before I finalize it, join the group and watch for related posts. I'll at least give anyone who wishes to speak up a chance to be heard and consider their thoughts. Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask at the group. And good luck to everyone!
